Apple Zucchini
A real winner, in more ways than one. I got the original recipe from my friend Gaylia, an enthusiastic participant in Ironman Triathlons around the world. She got the original recipe from a nutritionist who is helping with her diet… I've tweaked it bit and it is so delicious that it's become a staple in my household. Thank you, Gaylia! Also available in a lower-fat version, with partial addition of whole wheat pastry flour, applesauce replacing half the oil, and without nuts.

Lemony Lemon
This recipe dates back almost as far as the original chocolate chip cookie recipe, which is to say it's older than many of my customers..A sauce of lemon juice and sugar is poured on top when still warm out of the oven -- making for the delicious flavor worthy of the name. A vegan version is also available.

Poppy Seed Cake
Even though this loaf cake is technically vegan, you don't have to be vegan to love it. This is truly delicious, with the addition of lemon zest in the cake and a drizzle of lemon icing on top.

Scented-Geranium Pound Cake
This traditional pound cake — using a pound of flour, a pound of butter, a pound of sugar, and a pound of eggs — has a Victorian-era twist: the baking pan is lined with the leaves and flowers of the scented geranium plant. I use the rose-scented variety, grown in my garden without pesticides. Yes, the leaves are edible and make for a lovely and unusual presentation.
